The Shireburn Arms in Lancashire is intimate, warm and cosy. Everything Louisa and Chris wanted for their wintery wedding. It was quite a rainy day, but that didn’t matter as the wedding ceremony and reception was all to be held inside the country Inn. The Shireburn also has endless possibilities for amazing photographs both inside and out, which is great for winter weddings when the weather can be slightly more unpredictable. What’s more we also proved that the rain can give you some very creative wedding photographs without even getting wet!
I caught up with Louisa and Chris a couple of months ahead of their big day in Preston for a pre wedding shoot in Avenham Park. It was so lovely to hear all about their wedding plans whilst taking some pretty pictures in the Autumn light.
On the morning of the big day Louisa was getting ready in the Bridal suite at the Shireburn Arms. The views from this room are unbelievable, with endless rolling hills of Ribble Valley counrtyside. The room is so spacious and relaxing, absolutely perfect for calm bridal preparations. I loved the morning time. Louisa was getting ready with her mum who was also to help her into her lovely wedding dress. It was such a lovely surprise to see the super talented make up artist Sonara Parker too. She always makes brides look utterly fabulous.
Chris arrived all in good time looking pretty dapper, supported by his trusty best man. He was feeling pretty nervous and looked quite nervous. I think it is always harder for the guys though because they always have to be there super early and then have nothing to do other than greet wedding guests.
The Bride (and Groom) put so much effort into the decoration of Shireburn Arms. It’s the perfect rustic, shabby chic venue but Louisa and Chris really managed to make it their own. They even had some little white trees lit up with fairy lights which made the ceremony look quite magical. The tables were all decorated in lace with beautiful tiny wooden hearts saying ‘just married’. I have to mention the cake too. It was made of macaroons, it looked so tasty!
You’ll not believe this but, we didn’t step foot outside once. Not even to take photographs in the rain!
