Shooting workshop for wedding photographers
Chetham’s Library is a magical wedding venue seen as one of Manchesters hidden gems. The medieval Boronial Hall is the most indulgent place to say “I do” especially if you’re looking for a wedding venue with character. The secret passage ways and magnificent fireplaces made it the only choice for my gothic themed shooting workshop appropriately named “The Black Diamond”.
I’ve hosted a number of wedding photography workshops over the past 2 years designed for photographers and styled individually to suit every photographers branding. Each of my wedding portfolio builders allows photographers of all abilities to shoot a model with no pressure and full creativity.
I styled the Black Diamond shooting workshop with the gorgeous Chetham’s Library in mind. Chetham’s is perfectly suited to gothic or medieval themed weddings. Smaller in size it’s also perfect for smaller intimate wedding celebrations too. It’s a darker wedding venue which I know some photographers may shy away from but I wanted to show that you don’t need fields and gardens to create beautiful wedding portraits. The gorgeous leaded windows let through the most amazing pools of light that enable you to create dramatic wedding portraits that you just can’t create outdoors.
The amazingly talented Lousia modelled for us wearing a gorgeous long sleeved beaded Monsoon wedding dress complete with a floor length wedding veil. Working with an experienced model on the workshops means you can gain confidence in directing and posing without feeling silly. Allowing you to really slow down and work on perfecting your photographs right down to the fine details. This means you walk away not only with awesome wedding portraits that you can’t wait to show off but with the belief and skill set to recreate beautiful photographs for your own couples on a wedding day.
Thank you to everyone who came on the Black Diamond Portfolio Builder, it was so lovely to meet you all and to see your amazing photographs. Here are some of my favourites from the day.
