sTIRK HOUSE HOTEL WEDDINGS
A place to escape, relax and indulge. Built from the stones of a dismantled abbey. Stood through two world wars. Survived fire. And still standing, the ivy-clad, award-winning, Ribble Valley light falling across the house and its grounds exactly as it always has. The beauty of Stirk House.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GETTING MARRIED AT STIRK HOUSE HOTEL
There are venues that look good in photographs. Stirk House looks good in photographs and makes you feel something entirely different when you’re actually standing inside it.
Built in 1635, partly from the stone of Sawley Abbey, dismantled a century earlier. The manor house carries the particular weight of a place that has genuinely been through something. Ivy-clad walls. A stone arch above the fireplace that has been there since the beginning. An original doorway that has welcomed guests since before any of this was imaginable. Twenty-two acres of estate grounds, an ancient forest, a nature trail, and Pendle Hill rising in the distance behind it all.
Multiple times winner of Best Venue in Lancashire. One wedding per day. Thirty-three bedrooms. A honeymoon suite with a freestanding bath, a private lounge, and hooks along the hallway designed specifically for wedding outfits. A team dedicated to you, described not as professionals but as a family.
This is Stirk House. You’ll know when you walk in.
Stirk House can be found on the A59 at Gisburn, near Clitheroe, Lancashire BB7 4LJ.

REASONS TO HAVE A STIRK HOUSE WEDDING

THE SETTING
GETTING READY
Thirty-three bedrooms, each individually designed, each with views across the estate or the surrounding Ribble Valley countryside. The honeymoon suite has it’s own private lounge, freestanding bath, double shower, dressing table. It’s yours on the wedding night. For the morning itself, the dedicated bridal preparation space gives you somewhere light, unhurried and entirely your own to begin the day. Outside, the grounds are already waiting. The ancient forest. The nature trail. The patio with its sweeping views. None of it asks anything of you yet. The day hasn’t started. This is just the beginning.
THE LOCATION
WEDDING CEREMONY
The Gallery Suite holds up to 113 for your ceremony, stone walls, wooden beams, aisle carpet laid with petals and lanterns, two bay trees framing the front.
A fairy light curtain as backdrop. The room was built for atmosphere, and it delivers it without effort. Every ceremony here is set up by a team that has done this enough times to know exactly what makes a room feel right — and cares enough to make sure it always does.
PHOTO READY
BACKDROP
The ancient woodland at any hour, dappled, deep and entirely unlike anything else in the Ribble Valley. The formal gardens in summer, every colour catching the light. The nature trail winding out into open countryside with Pendle Hill sitting on the horizon. The ivy-clad facade of the house itself, as golden hour settles across the stonework. The patio as the afternoon begins to soften. Stirk House photographs differently in every season, at every time of day. There is always more to find.

READY TO
PARTY
The Function Suite means you can party with 250 of your favourite people. But it’s the atmosphere of an evening at Stirk House that stays with you. Dave, the Master of Ceremonies, is the kind of person who gets name-checked in every review, who reads a room and lifts it, who makes two hundred guests feel like they’re all exactly where they were always meant to be. That is very difficult to manufacture. At Stirk House, it’s just what happens.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR stirk house WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER EXPERIENCE
WhAT’S INCLUDED IN A stirk house WEDDING PACKAGE?
The Gallery Suite dressed and ready, petals, lanterns, fairy light curtain, that’s before you arrive. The ceremony, the reception drinks, the canapés, the three-course wedding breakfast. The speeches. The portraits in the ancient woodland as the light turns golden. The first dance in a room that knows how to hold a celebration.
All of it documented. From the first quiet moments of the morning to the last of the evening. Including a couple shoot in the estate grounds, fifteen minutes in twenty-two acres of Lancashire countryside. The woodland, the gardens, Pendle Hill sitting in the distance. Not posed. Not performed. Just two people in one of the most naturally beautiful wedding settings in the north of England.

One wedding per day, always. The honeymoon suite gifted on the wedding night. A team that plans every detail alongside you and then disappears into the background on the day itself, present without being visible, attentive without being intrusive. The kind of service that only comes from people who have been doing this long enough to care deeply about getting it right.
Stirk House was built nearly four hundred years ago from the stones of something older. It has been through enough to know what matters. And what matters, always, is how the day feels, for you, the couple at the centre of it, and for every single person in the room around you.
LUXURY, STYLISH & EXCLUSIVE
The house is your backdrop, the grounds hold your story and you’re at the heart of it all.
Country house weddings are elegant, relaxed and full of quiet drama. Historic architecture, sweeping grounds and soft natural light replace the normal, creating a day that feels modern yet rooted in tradition. For couples drawn to a wedding that feels refined but effortless, where every moment has room to breathe and every corner is beautifully considered.

SEE A REAL WEDDING AT STIRK HOUSE

Hey, I’m Toni. I love old photographs, the kind with crumpled edges that your grandparents would dig out on a rainy day. I love that they would always know the full story hidden within every single one. I have an obsession with polaroids and real film, giving me that feeling where one memory could live a life of it’s own.
