Industrial wedding venue in Clitheroe

Holmes Mill is a dream wedding venue located in the heart of the Ribble Valley at the foot of the historic Clitheroe Castle. The restoration project of the 19th century industrial cotton mill still carries many of it’s original features making it a very unique picture perfect wedding venue in Lancashire. I love capturing Holmes Mill wedding photography as it’s a unique wedding venue in the North West. Whether you’re looking for an intimate civil ceremony with your immediate family and friends or a big colourful alternative industrial wedding this James’ Places complex can offer you everything you are searching for. The character and rustic charm that lies within the engine room combined with the exposed brick, peeling paint and steel piping in the Cotton Room are in contrast to the stylish Bistro, which are all perfect spaces for awesome wedding photographs!

Industrial wedding ceremonies in the Cotton Room

The lovingly restored Cotton Room on the first floor of the Holmes Mill complex wears it’s bumps and bruises with pride. This stunning room is filled with natural light which is the perfect space for your wedding ceremony. I guarantee you’ll fall in love as soon as you open the blue doors. The open space leaves you plenty of options when it comes to planning your rustic chic wedding day. This awesome space really allows you to inject your own personalities into your wedding. The options are endless with copper framed floral backdrops, feather hoops or hanging macrame. It really all looks stunning and creates an amazing space for your wedding photographs. There’s also the option to have reclaimed cinema seating which is pretty cool.

Wedding receptions in the Bistro Bar & Grill

The modern and sophisticated Bistro located in the Spinning Block at Holmes Mill is perfect place to start your wedding reception with stylish cocktails and prosecco. I love documenting wedding receptions here as the light floods in through the windows creating really nice light pockets as everyone is celebrating. The intimate atmosphere creates a cosy ambiance where everyone feels relaxed which gives the ability to capture natural candid moments. The unique decor and design also provides loads of creative opportunites for artistic photographs too!

Wedding Photographs in the Engine Room

The Engine room has so much historical charm showcasing the powerhouse of the original cotton mill. It holds so many unique and visually striking photo opportunities with it’s smokey mirrors, ambient lighting and exposed beams. Holmes Mill offers so many spaces for amazing photographs but if you’re getting married at Holmes Mill this should most definitely be on your photo list. I love taking couples away for a 5-10 minute portrait session on their wedding day because it gives you time to have a little chat with each other on your wedding day and say “Hi, we’re married. YAY!”. The atmosphere is just incredible and to take 5 minutes to take it all in is just magical. A moment to remember.

Bridal Preparations in the Spinning Block

If you’re getting ready with your bridal party on your wedding morning, the luxury of the Spinning Block is the perfect place to start your wedding morning with your bridal party. It’s spacious rooms with tall windows create the perfect getting atmosphere. This is great if you’re having your hair and make up applied as all the bridesmaids can hang out in one space and you’re only a minutes walk away from the wedding ceremony. Being so close to the wedding venue means you can have a super relaxed wedding morning without worrying about transport on your wedding day. If you’re staying in the Spinning Block Penthouse on the night of your wedding too you can always pop back for touch ups before you’re evening reception.
PS. The Penthouse, bridal suite is AMAZING!
