Foxfields Country House Wedding Photography
The Ribble Valley is known for its incredible countryside and magical views across Lancashire. The Foxfields Country Hotel is situated close to my home town, looking down the valley into the picturesque village of Whalley. I mean the views from the woodland retreat are insane. I can also confirm that the team at Foxfield Weddings are so friendly and welcoming that if you are looking for a romantic dream wedding, you’re definitely in the right place.
The dream team at Foxfields and of course the super talented make up extraordinaire, Phoebe of Flossy & Leigh most definitely explains why Clare was so chilled on the morning of her wedding. I walked into the spacious Bridal Suite to a calm atmosphere lightly scented of Jo Malone. Clare and her girls were all being truly pampered by the girls at Flossy and Leigh.
Clare, the bride was so excited to see the ceremony room, which was eloquently dressed by the team at Pure Elegance Wedding and Events. Hats off to these guys as it looked amazing! As I popped down to see the room and document the guests arriving I bumped into Daniel, who I have to say was looking rather nervous but dapper in a burgundy tuxedo, closely followed by his groomsmen in Black. You could tell he felt good because he wasn’t the most keen on wanting photographs of himself before the big day, then when it came to the crunch he was absolutely loving it!!
The most emotional point of the wedding day for Clare and the girls was seeing Clare in her wedding dress for the first time, you could feel all the emotions in the room. It’s a strange feeling, having been a bridesmaid myself I can almost see it unfolding now. Your bestie is getting married, you’ve seen her hours of transformation to look perfect over the course of the wedding morning but for some reason, as soon as she puts on “THE DRESS” you all absolutely melt. Clare, you genuinely did look incredible! I’m not the only one who thought so, as your Groom was looking slightly on the teary side as you walked down the aisle with your father too!
When you get married in the winter the next bit becomes quite obvious. It’s going to get dark pretty earlier. But less on the obvious side the sun is always so much lower in the sky which means you can witness the most amazing golden light in the early afternoon. We made the most of this portrait time by talking a walk through the woodland space in the acres of land this wedding venue holds. It’s always so nice for you guys to have a little time out on your special day to remember why you are there saying “I DO”.
Not being a massive fan of dancing or generally being centre of attention Clare and Daniel chose not to have a first dance. Instead cutting the INCREDIBLE hidden / secret layer wedding cake – it’s a must see by the crazy talented Antonia of Cherry Blossom Bakery (check it out!) they then proceeded straight into a game of Mr & Mrs, which is always super fun!
This job of mine, a wedding photographer, really does allow me to meet some incredible people along the way. Thank you so much Mr & Mrs O for allowing me in, honestly and openly to document the complete story of your day. And for trusting me of anything I asked, however ridiculous, with no questions when it came down to it. I know asking you to stand in a car park, in the dark does seem random, but hopefully the creative portraits are absolutely worth it!
